CHELBY KENTEN
Hi there, I'm Chelby. I have been nursing for about 9 years now and absolutely love it: I cannot imagine doing any other job. I originally started work at our Sheerness clinic, spending 6 years there, but have been at the Minster branch now for the last 3 years. I really enjoy the different challenges every day brings whether its nursing our surgical patients, assisting the vet, advising clients about their pets health and welfare in our nurse clincs or helping the more cuddly pets lose weight.......I never really know whats coming through the door next!!
I have a very keen interest in herbal medicine and holistic treatments - mainly Reiki and Crystal therapy, which I practice daily at work and at home. I hope to develop further in these areas.
My 'Furry' family at home consists of my dog Bailey (Cavalier King Charles), Bramble (the cat), Little Fu (3 legged Persian with attitude!!!), Wacko & Jacko (Guinea Pigs) and my chickens Dolly, Daphne & KFC!
I also run a small guniea pig rescue/rehoming service called 'A few Guinea's', taking in unwanted and abandoned piggies, treating any medical conditions the may have and finding them loving new homes.
I aim to continue caring for animals for many years to come.
JANET HIGERTY R.V.N VETERINARY NURSE
Hi my name is Janet and i've been working as a Veterinary Nurse since 1994 and having moved to a training practice I became a qualified nurse in 2005. I then continued my training at a practice in Maidstone where I became a A1 assessor of student veterinary nurses. I moved to wellpets in January 2009 and have found that the team are superb with both the clients and patients as well as their colleagues.
As with most of the nurses I have a collection of broken or worn out animals including "Murphy", a geriatric whippet cross, a three legged yorkie cross called "Tryke" as well as two cats, one called "Dotty" who has a very peculiar tail and "Fizz" who was hand reared.
I have had pets since a very young age and have always wanted a career working alongside them so I am pleased to say that I have the job I have always wanted.
