Emergency Process

P.E.T.S - Pet Emergency Treatment Services Ltd

For all emergencies that are out of hours for our Kent, Minster and Sheerness surgeries, please read the information below:

Out of normal surgery hours your emergency calls will be referred to the P.E.T.S. centre at Newnham Court Veterinary Group in Maidstone. If you would like to know more about the service please telephone our Minster surgery on (01795)876800 or our Sheerness surgery on (01795)662243 or ask at the surgery reception desk for a leaflet.

P.E.T.S. operates just like a human casualty unit. All the necessary life-saving facilities are located there. Human emergencies are transported to the casualty unit to enable them to receive the best treatment - similarly for pets, very little useful treatment can be carried out elsewhere. If needed, the staff at P.E.T.S. will give you advice on how to move your injured pet.

P.E.T.S. is one of a few dedicated emergency centres; staffed by experience full-time veterinary surgeons and qualified nurses registered with the RCVS. Because P.E.T.S. operates from Newnham Court Veterinary Hospital, they have access to all the up-to-date anaesthetic, surgical and laboratory equipment to ensure your pet has the best possible treatment.

Cover is provided 365 days a year and staff are on the premises 24 hours a day - always on hand to ensure your pet has the best care.

P.E.T.S Ambulance Service

P.E.T.S. is able to offer an ambulance* service which will transfer your animal from your home to the Practice and back again. There is obviously a charge for this service which is based on a radius system depending on the distance travelled.

*the ambulance does not provide a paramedic service.
